Description

       KETAC ™ CEM is a radiopaque fixing cement. Ketak Cem Ketac Cem (3M ESPE, USA), 33g + 12ml, kneading pad, spoon, pipette.

Indications for use

       Fixing tabs, onlays, crowns and bridges, as cement for fixing in orthopedics, and as cushioning material.

Processing Instructions

       For maximum cement adhesion, enamel, dentin and metal surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and dried. Avoid overdrying.

Pulp protection

       Glass ionomer cement is not recommended for dentin located near the pulp. In the presence of such zones, it is preferable to use hydroxide-based cement. Dosage

       Shake the powder. Unscrew the cap and put on the dropper. The following ratio is recommended when mixing powder and liquid - 3.8: 1 depending on weight. This corresponds to approximately one scoop of powder per 2 drops of liquid. Pour one scoop of powder onto a mixing pad. Do not compact the powder. For laying in accordance with the required consistency, more powder should be mixed.

       A package with a bottle of liquid contains a dropper dispenser, which is screwed onto the lid.

Before dosing droplets of liquid, you should pay attention to the fact that in the dropper-dispenser there would be no residues of crystallized liquid. When dosing, keep the bottle upright.

Kneading

       The X-ray contrast KETAC ™ CEM should be kneaded at room temperature 20-25 ° C. A metal or plastic spatula can be used for kneading. According to the principle of a sufficient amount of powder, add the powder to the liquid until a viscous consistency. Cement, ready for fixing the crown, should almost drip from the spatula. Mix the cement until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Application

       During application and solidification, ingress of water and saliva should be avoided. Apply a thin layer of cement inside the crown and on the stump. Avoid overfilling the crown. Hydraulic pressure in a narrow crown can lead to pulpitis. An increase in processing time leads to a loss of adhesion on enamel and dentin.

Time

       At room temperature (23 ° C) and relative humidity of 50%:

       - kneading 1 minute;

       - application (including kneading) 3 min 30 sec;

       - curing (including kneading) 7 minutes.

       Higher temperatures decrease and lower temperatures increase working hours.

       Also, a higher powder ratio leads to shorter processing times.

Surplus:

       Remove excess with a spatula in the 7th minute from the moment of mixing.

Incompatibility:

       In sensitive patients, the product may cause allergic reactions. If such reactions occur, discontinue use of the product. If the rules of use are not followed, complications may occur on the pulp.

Storage:

       Store in a dry place at a temperature below 25 ° C. Avoid moisture. Do not use when expired.
