For dismantling of extended structures or structures with a significantly strong fixation force, tools with active force devices are used: Kopp's crown extractor with spring-loaded plunger mechanism and crown extractors with movable striker. The disadvantage of the Kopp apparatus is the excessive force of a single blow, which usually leads to deformation of the structure and in some cases to extraction of the supporting teeth. To apply a controlling vector force, the Kopp apparatus is used with a movable weight-beater, the displacement of which along the guide by the required amount allows the impact force to be calculated. To remove various types of prosthetic designs crown pickers are supplemented with special attachments in the form of snap hooks and loops, fastened to the axis of the crown picker with a holder and clip-shaped retainer.
