Designed for one-time removal of pulp from the root canal of the tooth.

They are used in a clinical setting. The tool is inserted into the tooth canal, rotated around its axis by an angle of 90-180 ° until the pulp is fully engaged, and then removed. Pulp extractors with a single handle made of stainless steel are made, and pulp extractors with a mounted handle are made of aluminum alloy, the working part is made of carbon steel.

Pulp extractors are used to remove pulp from the root canal, its decay, and cotton turundas. It is a gear tool, on the working part of which about 40 teeth are located in different planes. The size of the teeth is equal to half the diameter of the rod. The teeth have an oblique direction, the tip facing the handle of the tool and have little mobility. When immersed in the channel, the teeth are pressed against the conical shaft, which facilitates the penetration of the pulp extractor into the channel. When the tool is removed from the channel, the teeth capture the pulp tissue and completely remove it. Carbon steel tools are made.

During operation, the pulp extractor is inserted into the canal to the required depth, carefully (without effort) is rotated 2-3 turns and is removed along with the contents of the root canal. When working in narrow root canals, the pulp extractor should be introduced no more than 2/3 of the channel length, i.e. not reaching the top by 3-4 mm. It is necessary to ensure that the pulp extractor is freely in the lumen of the channel, practically without touching the walls, because in case of jamming, the tool breaks off rather quickly. Due to the fact that pulp extractors are fragile and brittle tools, it is recommended to use them only in well-passable channels, when jamming and breaking of the tool are excluded.

All main parameters of endocanal instruments are regulated according to the international ISO standard.
