Glass ionomer cements are modern filling materials that combine the properties of silicate and polyacrylic systems.
Glass ionomer cements consist of a powder (finely ground calcium and aluminum fluorosilicate) and a liquid (50% aqueous solution of polyacrylic-polymaleic acid).
