Falcon manufactures various types of probes for use in dentistry.
The probes differ:
by purpose (periodontal, diagnostic)
by working properties (flexible, non-flexible)
by the shape of the working part
handle shape
by tactile sensitivity (Classic, Soft Line).
Periodontal probes in their turn are distinguished by:
end of the working part (regular, ball)
coding (notches, color coding)
the size of the coding in mm.
Each dentist can choose the most convenient variant for himself.
Classic series - classic metal solid handle of round shape (diameter - 6mm.), provides good tactile sensitivity, reliable holding, special notches prevent its slipping. Such instruments are sterilized by any of the traditional methods accepted in the clinic (dry heat, ultrasound, autoclave, disinfectants).
Soft Line series - round metal handle with a colored silicone insert (diameter - 10mm.), special light alloy, increased tactile sensitivity, reliability of holding, silicone prevents its slipping and thanks to different colors makes it easier to choose one or another instrument. Such instruments are sterilized by autoclaving.
